"Ben Franklin" called and asked if I would make him a new suit! I lucked out in the research because the following week the actual suit that Ben Franklin wore to the French Court to petition help for the American Revolution from Louis XVI was on display at the Smithsonian. Not only that, but there was a lecture and a complete muslin mock-up of it so I could sketch all the details. From there I had to work with the actor to develop something that was historically accurate while meeting his performance needs. I even provided the shoes!
